All things Wedding

Kiawah Island is a fabulous place for a Wedding as well as the reception.  There are countless possiblities for locations and types of events.  In this post I will try to give all the recommendations for everything that has to do with preparing for a Wedding on Kiawah Island.

First, are the recommendations for Wedding Planners.

"Lisa Thomas of OOH (out of hand) events is excellent.  She is located in the old village in mt pleasant and did a wonderful job for me recently.  There is a Lynn Bernstein who was a caterer here in chas for years but she passed away two weeks ago.  Not sure if you have the correct name in the last email, so maybe check again.  Lynne Easton of Easton events (new-from Charlottesville Va) is top notch. I can fwd her info if you would like."

" I haven't had experience with Pure Luxe Bride but I would heartily recommend Christina Baxter at Cibi Events.  She has a business here and in Washington, D.C."
"Here's another endorsement for Christina Baxter at www.cibievents.com.  She and I collaborated on a birthday party for Robert Mondavi, years ago, when she was associated with the American Institute of Wine and Food, in CT.  Her highly successful wedding/event planning business in Washington DC
has now expanded to Charleston.  Her concepts and connections are considerable. In short, she's terrific!"

"I have no experience with the planner you met with today, but two weeks ago we planned my daughter's wedding with help from Carrie Glasscock of A Charleston Bride (843 853-6402).  I would unequivocally recommend that you talk to her before making a final decision.  Her entire team is well known on the island and did a great job executing the entire weekend."
"Our daughter's wedding was at The Ocean Course 2 yrs ago and we LOVED our photographer, Tim Zielenbach 843-991-9352! Check his website www.zielenbach.com.He photographed us for al of the events-rehearsal, dinners, golf the day before, etc and became like a member of our family. He spent time with us in the early months before the wedding so he could get to know us and what was important to us. As you will see, Tim is especially great at capturing the emotions of the people and the beauty of the setting. He was always moving! On his site you will see a sample of the
photographs from Jori and David's wedding. I only wish I had another potential wedding. Our floral designer was Cricket Newman from Columbia (Designs by Cricket) and she did an equally fabulous job. The flowers were exquisite and exceeded our expectations;reach her at 903-261-0686. She was
always available to meet me at Kiawah or talk on the phone ( we live in Chicago). She also  acted as our wedding planner and was invaluable, especially the day/night of the wedding. She's easy going so she was a calming influence during the whole thing--- we were one of the families who was supposed to have a wedding at The River Course. It actually burned down the day I flew in to meet with Geri at the club! Her website is found at www.cricketnewmandesigns.com   Everything was wondeful except the cake. It tasted terrible, was not at all what I had asked for and was delivered minutes before the wedding as opposed to hours as it was supposed to be. I can't remember the name of the woman but she had been recommended by Geri at the Club and she lives off Main road by the first bridge that you pass over after Bojangles Fried Chicken. I almost asked for a refund but decided not to hassle with it. Best of luck to you--Kiawah is the absolute best location for a wedding. We made a weekend of it and our friends are still talking about how much fun they had."
"Tiger Lily at the Sanctuary does beautiful flowers and Steven Hyatt at Imaging Arts is an excellent photographer who is interested in wedding photography - among many other photographic skills you can contacy him a printing@imagingarts.com; his website is www.StevenHyattPhotography.com.
Steven is well known to and respected by members of the KI Photo Club."

"We used Beth of Wildflowers Inc. 843 367-8681, who works out of her home in Summerville for our daughter's October wedding.  Her arrangements were breathtaking at half the cost of Tiger Lily etc."
"Steve has been doing wedding photography for quite a while and his albums are beautiful. It is his main business and Imaging Arts a second one."

"Yes on a photographer.  Judy Percival of JP Photography did my wedding.  They were absolutely  beautiful!  She's on the island. 843-568-1844"
